I'm a new user of and is now evaluating quickreport 1.x as the reporting component. I get a problem in designing report with quickreport. The report I'm worked is a master-detail one. I want to 'group' data in the subdetail band but get no way to do so. The report I wanted looks like: Department: A Tel: Month: 1 Transaction1 data Transaction2 data. Month: 2 Transaction3 data. Department: B Tel: The database design is: Master table: 'Company'fields: 'department', 'tel' etc Detail table: 'Transaction' fields: 'department', 'month', 'transaction' Under quickreport, the 'QRDetailLink' component only has 'DetailBand', 'HeaderBand' and 'FooterBand' property.
I get on idea in adding a 'group' band within the SubDetailBand. If anyone get any idea, please email me some advice. Thanks in advance.
I am welcoming any suggestion of any alternative to Quickreport as a reporting component in Delphi. I am using Delphi 1.x. Regards, Mephist Kwan Add a QRGroup Component and set the datasource to the 'transaction' table and the datafield to 'Month'. This kind of report is quite easy. If you are using Delphi 2. Quickreport is already included and you dont have to look elsewhere. Regards Jose Ostos Tue, 03 Aug 1999 03:00:00 GMT.

Yet there is a warning not to use these components this way, so I have not used them so.:The QRDetailLink component is not intended to be used together with the QRGroup:component. They are two different ways of creating master/detail reports and:mixing them might give a wrong result. Markku Nevalainen Tue, 03 Aug 1999 03:00:00 GMT Page 1 of 1 2 post.
